Glitzology- Mrs. Grinch

Gooood Morning! Remember I told you how I wasn't going to do any Black Friday shopping, but of course I did anyways? Well one of my purchases was from Glitzology They were running an INCREDIBLE 50% off sale which I couldn't pass up. So I bought 9, yes 9, mini's. So you'll be seeing a lot of Glitzology on the blog in upcoming posts!

Today I have for you, Mrs. Grinch. "It features lots of lighter, leaf green base glitter as well as emerald green hexes, red hexes and bars, iridescent glitter, and a bit of green mica for shimmer." -glitzology says. I decided to layer two coats Mrs. Grinch over three coats of a pea green base, an Unnamed Bonita polish.

The consistency of the formula was near perfect, I had a little bit of clumping of glitters but nothing bothersome. The red bar glitters really made this something special.

What do you think of Mrs. Grinch? I think this is a polish Mr. Grinch would be proud of;)

Make sure to like Glitzology on Facebook as they run sales quite often!

Until Next Time!

Bonita Polish- Pearly Pink?

Hello Beauties. Today I wanted to show you the Bonita Polish I used as underwear for Darling Diva Polish Pink Nightmare in this post here. This was sitting in my untried pile and when I saw it I knew it would be perfect undies, but I didn't know how much I would fall in love with it.

Like most of my Bonita polishes, this one does not have a name. So I have dubbed it, pearly pink. It's an almost lilac color with hints of blue and silver shimmer in it. I couldn't believe how perfect the formula was and how glossy it would be.

This is two coats with NO topcoat! Can you see all the shimmer? GAH, I die!

I found this as a set of 6 at my local Ross, and I ended up picking up two other sets as well and I am SO glad I did.

Have you seen Bonita in your Ross? I highly recommend them.

Until Next Time!

Feenix Polish Swatch & Review

Hello & welcome new faces! *waves* It makes me so happy that so many of you have enjoyed my blog enough to stick with me through my journey. I appreciate each and every one of you and especially the people I've met along the way!

Enough with the sappy talk, onto what you came to see, Polish! Today I have a new to me indie brand called Feenix Polish, and let me tell you it doesn't disappoint.

First up, Blue Christmas. Blue Christmas is part of her holiday collection and Suzette describes is as "It has a sheer pearly white base, and it's filled with ice blue and royal blue glitters. The royal blue has a bit of a holographic punch to it" Perfect description!

I have used three thin coats of Blue Christmas and it gave me almost full opacity, four coats would have done it but I really liked the look of three. Followed by gelous and Seche Vite. This isn't topcoat hungry at all!

I really love the royal blue glitters, they give it that extra something.

Next up, Plum Pudding, which is also part of her holiday collection. This one is my absolute favorite! Suzette says "This polish is a blend of various sizes of two colors of glitter - dark burgundy and holographic gold. The flashes of gold lend bright sparks of all the colors of the rainbow. This one's a stunner!"

I used one coat of Plum Pudding over 2 coats of OPI- Honk if you love OPI. The formula was a little thick for my liking on this one, so I added a couple drops of thinner and VIOLA! perfection.

Check out that sparkle! I really enjoy these polishes and now have quite a few of them on my wishlist! You can find Feenix Polish on etsy. You can also follow them on Facebook.

Do any colors jump out at you?

Until Next Time!

Alice Had a Vision Again, stamped!

Hello beauties, what a wonderful few days it has been here. Nice cool weather and I actually had to pull out my jacket! Today I have a post that I meant to post last Sunday for Stamping Sunday- Gold. FAIL. I had so much going on that day I just couldn't get the post up, so better late than never!

I used two coats of Alice Had a Vision..Again and stamped with A Piece of Forever and my Cheeky XL plate.

The rumors were true when I heard A Piece of Forever was a great stamping polish, the inconsistency in the stamping is user error, I need a new stamper and I'm currently waiting on my XL one to arrive!

I hope you enjoyed, even though it was posted a bit late;)

Until Next Time!

Darling Diva- Holiday Lights

Good Morning my lovelies! Today I promised you the third Darling Diva Polish. I bring you, Holiday Lights. I can't tell you how excited I was when I opened the package and saw this. I was swooning over it when photo's were posted on facebook. Let me show you why.

ROUND GLITTERS!!! That's right, round glitters. Holiday Lights is full of green, red and gold round glitters and red and green holographic shimmer. This was beyond beautiful in person that I will be showing it to you over two different base colors.

For the first combo, I layered two coats over Orly- Haute Red, followed by one coat of gelous and one coat of Seche Vite. I used two coats because I didn't feel like enough glitters came out with one swipe. I also moved some of them around to get them evenly spaced.

The next base color I used was Ulta- Set the Nude. Again, this was two coats over two coats of Set the Nude, a coat of gelous, followed by Seche Vite.

I love the holographic shimmer in this, I think it really pulls all of the glitters together.

What do you think of my combinations? Which do you prefer? I hope you enjoy the macro shots, I got great feedback when I asked so now this will become a regular in my posts!

Don't forget to like Darling Diva's Facebook, and you can purchase these on Etsy here.

Until Next Time!

A Darling Diva Christmas Swatches & Review

Hello my dear readers!! And hello new faces as well! I'm so excited for today's post and I hope you are too. I have 3 polishes from the Darling Diva's Holiday collection, but today I will be showing you too, and tomorrow I'll be showing you the third.

For today, I am bringing you Frah-zhee-lay & Pink Nightmare. Can anyone guess what these polishes are named after? My all time FAVORITE Christmas movie, A Christmas Story. Poor Ralphie, always getting into some type of trouble.

First up, Frah-zhee-lay, it must be italian;) This polish is jam packed full of goodness. Red, green, iridescent and gold glitters and HUGE silver holographic hexes which I loved!

I layered one and a dabbed coat of FZL over ONE flawless coat of China Glaze- Holly Day, followed by a coat of gelous and a coat of Seche Vite. I thought this pair was perfect together, a real christmas-y effect.

The large hex glitters came out in numberous numbers, so I placed the ones I wanted on the rim of the bottle, then placed them where I wanted as to not over lap or stack the glitters. This worked very well, and the polish did not thicken or get gloopy on me during this process.

I really think FZL is a must have as part of a holiday collection, and you could easily layer it over other colors to wear year round!

Next up is Pink Christmas. Oh how I loved this one as it is such a great part in the movie. If you haven't seen it, Ralphie gets a pink bunny outfit, complete with footies and all for Christmas and he hates it but is forced to wear it.

Pink Nightmare is a pink shimmer base loaded full of pink shimmer, irridescent shimmer, medium magenta hexes, and my favorite, LARGE white and pink holographic glitters.

I used the same dab method as FZL for Pink Nightmare over 2 coats of an Unnamed Bonita purple/pink shimmer. It was a perfect pair, followed by a coat of gelous and a coat of Seche Vite.

The formula on this was near perfect, I had no trouble getting the large glitters out. This one is another must have in your collection, and again a year round polish! I see myself wearing this a lot in the springtime!

What do you think of these two polishes? Would you get either one?
You can purchase Darling Diva Polishes on etsy, bottles ranging from $8.00 and $12.00 and Carrie is so sweet and so responsive. Great Customer Service! Also, make sure to like their Facebook with updates and suprises!

Check back tomorrow for the third polish, it's a great one!

Until Next Time!

The gift of giving!

Hello & Happy Friday! It seems like the week has flown right past me! Anyone have any exciting plans for the weekend? I plan on sitting and enjoying my time with the boys before I go back to work on Monday.

Since Christmas is near I thought I would do a fun present inspired mani:) I'm one of those people who would prefer to give gifts than receive them. I love seeing faces light up when you've given them something, especially when they weren't expecting it.

Whenever I go to Walmart I always browse the beauty section, even if I don't plan on purchasing anything. Well on my trip the other day I spotted an end cap with new Salon Perfect polishes in it, Hello new bottles! I was so surprised, the bottles are much larger and a lot nicer looking! So of course, I had to pick up a few.

I used two coats of Salon Perfect- Glitzy Green, a dark green flecked polish, I looove the look of this and it looks very similar to Orly- Under the mistletoe so I'll be doing a comparison on those in the next few days. Then for the ribbons I used a red glitter striper, and the bow I stamped with Essence- A Piece of Forever and a cheeky XL plate. All topped with two coats of Seche Vite (the striper was a little thick)

The formula on Glitzy Green was really great and very manageable. The only thing is the brush was crooked, so it was a little difficult to round around the cuticle area.

What do you think of my gifts?

Until Next Time!

Welcome to the Funhouse!

Hello beauties! I hope all is well in polishland! Today I have a super fun mani for you, well, at least I think it is! I got my inspiration from two places, one the name of the polish, and two from the song that reminds me of the polish name!

Today I'll be showing you Hit Polish- Funhouse. When I think of Funhouse I think of no other than one of my all time FAVORITE singers, Pink. She is so beautiful and her music always pulls me in. Ideas were flying through my head of what I could do for this, and this is what I came up with! *picture heavy*

I started with a base coat of China Glaze- Solar Power. I really need to get a back up of this, I'm not a yellow fan usually but I love the shimmer in this! Then I added a gradient with Sinful Colors- Cream Pink. Yes, you read that right, pink. When it sponged onto the yellow it ended up turning into orange and to my surprise, I LOVED it.

I then added a coat of Hit Polish- Funhouse. Funhouse is described as "A clear base with tons of fine black and yellow glitters along with small hot pink, medium yellow hex, matte pink hex, black heck, hot pink squares then black shreds and large dandelion yellow hex and matte pink squares finish this beauty off." This describes it perfectly. It applied extremely well with no fishing or gooping of the polish. I did however place the hot pink squares where I wanted them but did not fish for them.

I then followed it with one coat of gelous and one coat of Seche Vite. My Seche Vite is starting to get goopy, I bought a HUGE 4oz bottle of it for refill which I'll be showing you in an upcoming post.

Doesn't this just scream fun to you? I'm so proud of it!

Sunday Stamping- Winter Theme

Hello my sweets & Happy Sunday! The end of a beautiful weekend and the start to another week. Can you believe it's December already? This year went by so quickly, my Isaac will be turning 3 in January, oh how the time has flown.

It's been a long while since I have participated in a Sunday stamping from the Adventures in Stamping group on facebook, since I've banned myself from challenges this month I decided it was only fit to do this:)

For my mani I started with two coats of China Glaze- White on White. I actually don't like this white to use as a base, for me it's really streaky and if I hadn't covered it in glitter & stamping I probably would have changed to my trusty Sinful Colors- Snow me white.

I then did a glitter gradient using Color Club- Beyond the Mistletoe. I love this collection so much, they are great winter polishes packed full of holo glitter! It was so sparkly my camera was picking up all sorts of sparkle! I then stamped on snowflakes with BM14 and Pure Ice- Silver Mercedez and Kleancolor- Metallic Sapphire.

Metallic Sapphire was more than troubling. I'm not sure if I have a dud bottle but when I was doing clean up between stamping it actually stained the card I use to swipe and my stamper, and it sunk into the polish after topcoat.

What do you think of my winter mani?
Until Next Time!

What's this? I was nice this year? ;)

Hello Lovelies & TGIF! I hope you all had a great week to bring on a wonderful weekend. I've been spending lots of quality time with the boys since I will be returning to work in one short week.
Today I've something extra special, I told myself I wasn't going to give in to any of the black friday sales, but once they started popping up how could I not? One of the purchases I made was a Holiday grab bag from 365 days of color. Sunny always uses fun and inventive ways to get her customers coming back for more. The holiday grab bags consisted of two Limited Edition polishes, depending if you were naughty or nice you received a different polish, how fun! If you were "naughty" you received "I Stole Christmas" and if you were "nice" you received "Mrs. Clause" I just so happened to be nice this year. Here is what I received in my grab bag:

Part of the black friday sale Sunny was running was that if you spent $25 dollars you received a free full size balm or oil of your choice. I've heard so many great things about her balms & oils that's why I took advantage. I received a sample sized miracle balm in Blue Spruce, A cuticle oil in Merry Mistletoe, the scent I chose for my full size was Cheese Cake Frosting, and my polishes, Black Flame Candle from the Hocus Pocus collection & Mrs. Clause. I already own a mini of BFC but I'm happy that I have a full size now, I really love that polish and will use it often! The balms&oil smell delicious & I can't wait to order more sample sizes in different scents. Especially the oil, these are great for your purse! Now lets take a look at Mrs. Clause shall we?

Mrs.Clause is a bright red jelly, filled with gold shimmer. I was so excited to put this on, I knew it would be a stunner. The gold shimmer is so light & delicate, it really makes the polish stand out.

This is two coats of Mrs.Clause followed by a coat of Seche Vite. I hope Sunny keeps making grab bags for different seasons of the year. Btw, there was a ton of candy that she added to the bag, but Isaac got to nearly every single piece before I even got finished unwrapping the polishes.

What do you think of Mrs.Clause? Did you get any of the black friday deals? I'de love to hear what you splurged on!

Sunny has these bags available through the entire month of December for $25 shipped and you are guaranteed two full size polishes, one being a limited edition and 2-3 extras! You can find them here. Also, make sure to like her facebook, she always posts fun things and great deals!

Until Next Time!
