Go Pink Wednesday

Hello and Happy Humpday! You know those nail days when you feel like nothing goes right? Well, that's what happened last night. I had 4 different corners, on 3 different nails break. I was so upset I think I shed a tear. So needless to say I had to chop down my nails. Then it just felt like nothing was working, my stamping, nail art, nothing. I did 3 different mani's before I gave up and left it as the one I'm showing you today. So I apologize if it's not the greatest.
Also, I apologize for all the different lighting in my photo's, I'm trying to find what works best for me and I just can't. Anyone have any secrets they want to share with me? I made a light box, but I don't feel like I'm getting enough out of the polish. I tried directly under the lamp and that's what you will see today.

ENOUGH BAD TALK! Onto what everyone really wants to see! <3

I used China Glaze- Ahoy! which I recently got on one of my Sally's hauls with the October $10 off $20. It's a beautiful magenta pink with loads of golden shimmer, similar to Strawberry Fields but darker. 2 easy coats, followed by Seche Vite.

After that I added one coat China Glaze- Ray-Diant. This is actually one that I really liked out of the collection, it's not dense like the others and is a great topper. It has silver glitter with a lot of multi colored hex glitters.

Finally, I finished off with some stamping, I knew I wanted to use hearts so I turned to my favorite heart plate, from my new cheeky plate CH15, and stamped with Finger Paints- Black expressionism. These plates were actually great to use, etched well. I'll be swatching each plate in the next couple of days when I make cards for each plate so I'll let you know how the rest work.

What do you think of today's mani?

  2. No need to apologize, this looks beautiful. I know how stressful those days can be though. It seems like my nails are breaking lately - I'm wondering if it's the dry cold weather where I live...?

    1. I thought about that being the weather change. I take prenatals daily so I was hoping this would help:(

  5. Definitely need to add Ahoy to my wish list, I love it! The hearts on top just perfects the look. For my light box I put a lamp on either side and that seems to give me the best lighting. I also got the "daylight" bulbs which have more white light vs the yellowish light some have.

  6. Gorgeous color! I had a night like that this week...I had to go SUPER nubby because I was picking at my polish and peeled part of my actual nail. I learned my lesson, but I had to file them all down! :( Your nails look great, though!

  7. I just snapped two nails off in the past three days. I was able to repair one temporarily and hide my thumb for my GPW post, but I filed them all down this evening and I am back to nubbins for a while, so I know how frustrating that can be. I absolutely love your GPW mani, though! I love the layers you used. Super pretty!
